About

Hi! My name is Nadia. I am Swiss-American.

In reality, though, I can’t really say I’m from either Switzerland or the U.S., having spent my whole life moving every couple of years...but here’s my story (or a glimpse of it).

I was born in a little village in the mountains of Togo, West Africa, by kerosene lamp (I have very adventurous parents, but that’s another tale for another day). I now live in the beautiful green country of North Carolina, complete with rolling hills, red barns, and blue skies. I love it here. Somewhere along the way, between Togo and North Carolina, I also lived in Switzerland, Burkina Faso, Mali, Benin, Ecuador, France, San Francisco, and Kenya. More or less in that order. I like to think that I carry with me some of the culture and spice from each place.

Back in 2002, I discovered I was intolerant to gluten. This changed my life. I had always loved cooking, but the gluten-free journey pushed me to another level. I had to cook. Gluten tends to lurk in the most unlikely places, but when you cook with whole foods you know exactly what's going into your meals. Luckily, I am blessed to have a mother who is, hands down, the best cook I have ever known. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. So, armed with a love of food and the magic of her teachings, I set off on a culinary journey that has spanned the last nine eleven years.

It's simple, really. I love food. Real food. The closer to the earth, the better. And one of my favorite things in the world is sharing that food. As such, my kitchen is always full. You will find me there most nights with friends, family, or my boyfriend husband, dancing and laughing as we sip wine and cook together. And on nights when it's just me, chances are I'll still be dancing around that little kitchen, lost in my own happy food world.

This is my special place, where I get to share my food and capture memories along the way.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and bon appétit!

Nadia
